The Taiwan Mikan Tanaka Marathon offers a rare opportunity to race through the heart of Taiwan’s agricultural landscape. Set in Tianzhong—known as “Taiwan’s Rice Heaven”—the 21.1 km (13.1 mi) course runs alongside the Babao Canal, through working rice fields and forested corridors. Every stretch reflects the region’s deep farming roots. With a route designed to highlight both physical effort and environmental connection, runners will experience open landscapes, clean air, and strong local support. The race also serves a clear purpose: promoting sustainable farming and strengthening ties between sport and rural life. Post-race, participants can sample locally grown rice and engage with the farmers who shape this land daily.
