The event is a running race open to members of Schuylkill Navy clubs and affiliates, including several Philadelphia-area rowing organizations. Friends and family may participate as guests, with separate prizes for the first male and female guest finishers, though guests are not eligible for team scoring. Runners compete in various classifications: Juniors, Masters, Open, Guests, and Novice (first-time participants). Team trophies are determined by the top finishers from each club. The course features both road and cross-country segments, and an award ceremony is held at the Fairmount Rowing Association.
