About the race

The Sam Lapidus Montclair Run is an annual event that began as the Montclair Run and was renamed to honor Sam Lapidus, who passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma. A portion of each registration supports the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama. The run attracts around 1,500 participants of all ages and is a Thanksgiving tradition for many families and visitors. Awards are given for best costumes. The event is hosted by the Levite Jewish Community Center, a community-focused recreational and educational facility in Birmingham.
