Running of the Turkeys is a family-friendly run held in downtown York, hosted by First Presbyterian and Trinity United Methodist churches. Founded by local runners and church members, the event encourages participants to donate non-perishable items to PATH, a nonprofit organization providing food, emergency aid, and other assistance to the York community. Proceeds and donations from the event also benefit the Grace and Mercy Soup Kitchen and the YSD1 Education Foundation. The event aims to support local charities and foster community involvement through an annual Thanksgiving run.
