The Santa Rosa Turkey Trot takes place annually on Thanksgiving Day at Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa. The event features a chip-timed 5k race on a flat figure-eight course through town and on the Prince Memorial Greenway. Participants of all abilities are encouraged to run, jog, or walk in the 5k, while children under 5 can enjoy the TINY Turkey, a short dash around the lawn at the square. Costumes are welcome. The event supports the Redwood Empire Food Bank and is organized by Learning is Open, a nonprofit organization.
