The NCR Marathon, organized by the Baltimore Road Runners Club, is Baltimore's oldest USATF certified marathon, held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This event, previously the Maryland Marathon, moved to the Northern Central Railroad Trail in 1990. The scenic course, known as the Torrey C. Brown Trail, runs from Hunt Valley to the Mason-Dixon Line. Over the years, the marathon has introduced a relay, 8K event, and relocated its start to the Oldfields School campus. Participants receive a finishers blanket and hoody. This event is a Boston Qualifier, attracting serious runners.
