Launched in 2012, the Proença Cross Trail is one of Portugal’s oldest trail races and a defining fixture in the country's trail running history. Originally part of the Oh Meus Deus Series alongside Vila de Rei and Serra da Estrela, this race was where many runners first tested themselves over ultramarathon distances. The event has remained true to its founding philosophy: running immersed in nature, with safety, speed, and challenge at its core. Athletes navigate a technical and engaging course through the forested terrain of Proença-a-Nova, with varied altitudes, single tracks, and rugged footpaths.
