The New Year’s Day 5K is part of the Bedford race series and supports Bertha’s Mission, an organization that provides food assistance to the community. The course begins at Bedford Square, winds through the northern part of the city, and finishes at The Downtown Depot, which also serves as race headquarters. The event offers awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Race shirts are available to the first 100 registrants. Proceeds benefit Bertha’s Mission, and participants are encouraged to combine fitness with community support.
