The event is a fundraiser for Welcome Sports Ministry, an initiative offering free martial arts lessons for all ages through Welcome Lutheran Church. This year's format combines a traditional run with a Capture the Flag game, set in scenic countryside surroundings. Participants across various age divisions, from children to seniors, will receive race medals, with additional prizes for Capture the Flag winners and top overall male and female timed finishers. Although costumes are not required, dressing like a ninja is encouraged for fun.
