The Bayou City Classic is an endurance sports event held annually in downtown Houston at Hermann Square adjacent to City Hall. Organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA), an all-volunteer non-profit, this family-friendly and all-inclusive event welcomes runners and walkers, including wheelchair and pushrim participants. Proceeds are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to improve city parks and preserve trees. Known as Texas' oldest running event of its kind, it also features a post-race party and a costume contest.
