About the race

The Brighton Half Marathon is one of the UK’s standout coastal road races, celebrating over three decades of racing history. Set against the backdrop of Brighton’s seafront, the 13.1-mile (21.1 km) course offers a fast and scenic route ideal for PB chasers and charity runners alike. Runners pass iconic sites including the Brighton Palace Pier, Royal Pavilion, i360, and the Marina, with breathtaking stretches along the East Brighton cliffs and Hove’s colorful beach huts. The race starts and finishes on Hove Lawns, with roaring crowds and lively entertainment lining the course. With a record-breaking elite field, a wheelchair division, and thousands of runners in fancy dress or fundraising kits, the event buzzes with energy. Organized by The Sussex Beacon, a Brighton-based HIV charity, the race raises over £1 million annually for causes across the UK. A vibrant pre-race expo and post-race celebrations round out this well-supported and community-driven event.
