St Joseph's Hospital City of Newport Half Marathon takes runners on a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) journey through the heart of South Wales’ vibrant city and the historic Roman village of Caerleon. Starting on Usk Way, the course crosses the SDR Bridge, passes Newport Bridge and the cenotaph memorial, before heading out along Caerleon Road to the village’s historic streets. Runners then follow the River Usk back to the city, passing landmarks such as the Riverfront Building and Millennium Bridge, with a scenic final mile along the riverside path to the finish behind the University of South Wales. The event combines fast, urban sections with river views and cultural highlights, while also raising vital funds for St David’s Hospice Care and other charities.
