The event is hosted by The Neuse Pamlico Sound Women’s Coalition, and aims to raise awareness and funds for sickle cell disease, which affects over 100,000 people in the U.S. and more than 5,000 patients and families in North Carolina alone. Participants' involvement will help support treatment, transportation, and related challenges for those affected by the disease.
