The United Airlines NYC Half is a marquee race on the global running calendar, bringing over 27,000 athletes each March through the beating heart of New York City. This is one of the largest races in the US and is one of only a handful each year which allows runners to enjoy closed-roads in New York. The 13.1-mile course—newly rerouted for 2025—now begins in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park and crosses the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, replacing the Manhattan Bridge for the first time in event history. Runners weave through the Lower East Side, past Grand Central and Times Square, before finishing in Central Park. Administered by New York Road Runners (NYRR), the race attracts an international field, including Olympic medalists and world record holders. But it’s not just a race—it’s a high-energy tour of NYC’s boroughs and landmarks, lined with cheering crowds, live music, and the city’s signature pulse. From elite competition to mass participation, this is New York racing at its finest.
