The Washingtonville Scholarship Run features a fast and flat USTFA-Certified 5K course, starting and finishing at Washingtonville High School. Competitive athletes can aim for medals awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, as well as custom-designed trophies for the overall top three men and women. For serious walkers, a 5K walk is available with medals presented in three men’s and three women’s groups. Participants who run in the walk division will be disqualified, and walkers will start behind the runners. Young athletes, from toddlers up to fifth grade, can compete in the Kid’s Run—held indoors at the WHS Gymnasium, with distances ranging from 50 meters to 800 meters based on age. Every finisher receives a medal. All pre-registered 5K runners, walkers, and Kid’s Run participants receive a unisex cotton short sleeve race shirt. Refuel with a post-race pasta luncheon alongside fellow competitors.
