The Shamrock 5k is an annual fundraising event hosted by the local Kappa Delta chapter to support child abuse prevention and aid families dealing with abuse-related trauma. Most of the race proceeds benefit the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, North Carolina, with a portion supporting Prevent Child Abuse America. Funds raised contribute to prevention programs and clinical treatment for abuse survivors. Participants can collect race packets at specified locations prior to the event. The event aims to ensure that every child grows up in a safe and healthy environment.
