The Riyadh Marathon is Saudi Arabia’s first official full marathon, launched in 2022 and immediately designated as a World Athletics Elite Label Road Race. Held annually in the capital, the event also features a half marathon, 10K, and 4K race—all hosted on a closed-loop course starting and finishing at King Saud University. The marathon loop is approximately 21.1 km, with full marathon participants completing two laps. The event draws a wide range of participants, from international elites to recreational runners, and has quickly become the Kingdom’s flagship endurance race. Over 10,000 runners joined the inaugural edition, marking a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s expanding sports scene.
