The Noquemanon Ski Marathon is a cross-country skiing event that attracts both elite and recreational participants from the United States and internationally. The course traverses the Upper Peninsula wilderness from Ishpeming to Marquette, featuring remote terrain, forests, lake crossings, and varied weather. The event offers classic and freestyle races, a relay, youth and adaptive skiing, and a snowshoe race. Much of the course is only open for this event each year. The marathon supports the Noquemanon Trail Network and has a no-refund, non-transferable entry policy due to its nonprofit fundraising nature and challenging conditions.
