Flyby shows other athletes whose recorded tracks crossed yours in space and time. When a public ride or run overlaps with another athlete's public activity within 50 metres for at least 30 seconds, both of you can see the encounter.
Flyby is off by default. You'll only appear in others' Flybys after you turn it on in Settings → Privacy → Flyby. You can also hide yourself from followers, strangers, or both at any time.
We never share activities that aren't already public, and we trim the first and last 200 metres of every track so your home location is protected.
For each crossing we show:
Only athletes who have also opted in, recorded with GPS, and made the activity public. Indoor sessions, manual entries, and hidden-map activities never appear.
Athletes under 16 are never shown, regardless of their settings.
Toggle off any time in Settings. We'll immediately stop showing you in others' Flybys, and after 30 days the underlying data is fully cleared from our system.
